Rose McGowan

"Rose") McGowan was born on 5 September, 1973. She is an American
actress. Her film debut was an uncredited role in the comedy Encino Man (1992),
McGowan received more attention for her role in the dark comedy The Doom
Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough role was in the film horror Scream in
the year 1996. The film was followed by films Jawbreaker (1999) as well as
Devil in the Flesh (2000). In the early 2000s, McGowan became known to
television audiences for her role as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural
drama series Charmed (2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature
film Grindhouse (2006), in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress as
well as the Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. The album she released her debut
album on, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. The album was followed by
a re-release of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was named the Silence Breakers in
2017 by Time magazine. This honor recognizes McGowan's efforts to combat sexual
harassment and sexual assault especially in relation to Harvey Weinstein cases
of sexual assault as well as the Me Too movement. She's written a memoir,
Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series Citizen Rose, both in
2018.
