Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia She was born in Colombia and Portugal, but she later moved to Scotland where she began performing on stage during The Edinburgh Festival. After 16 she relocated to London where she began to get involved in independent filmmaking. (Her first pay-per-view on The Acid House was as a stoner alongside Irvine Welsh (1998)). Also, she's participated in theater, as an actor as well as director. The move to Los Angeles in 2004 led to more stage work. She directed Anne Dudek (a regular star on Mad Men/Big Love (2006)) as and David Dayan Fisher (a regular actor in 24 (2001/NCIS 2003)) to acclaim. In Headspace (2005) she made her debut US movie part as "Stacy" as a manipulative, born-again Christian. It was in the role of crazy "Thumper Wint" in the comedy, Sex and Death 101 (2007) (Simon Baker and Winona Ryder) which was written by Heathers (1988) author Daniel Waters, that the reviewers began to be aware of her talent, noting an unbeatable blend of strong sexuality and irreverent humor. Exam (2009), which was shot in London and LA it was her following film. It was nominated for Outstanding British Debut by the BAFTA and won the Santa Barbara Film Fest's Best Independent Award. The reviewers praised Pollyanna's capacity to "emotionally vulnerability" her tough, ambitious character. GQ just said "stunning Pollyanna McIntosh is an extremely talented actress". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is a hilarious South American farce in which she plays Brit comedian Trevor Lock's unhappy wife. Filmed in Peru where she speaks Spanish all the way. John Landis directed Burke and Hare (2010). She is Isla Fisher's bestie with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry and Tom Wilkinson. Her gruelling performance as the main character in Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) made the news at Sundance 2011, brought rave reviews and topped the New York Times readers' most viewed films poll. In recognition of her work, she was awarded three Best Actress awards, including Total Film's Frightfest Award and Fright Meter's.
