Melanie Jayne Lynskey was born 16 May 1977 in New Zealand. She is known for her charming, soft-spoken but tough characters. She is a major player in films that are independent. Her honors include a New Zealand Film Award. A Hollywood Film Award. Sundance Special Jury Award. Gotham Award. Golden Nymph Award. Critics' Choice Award. Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey made her film debut , playing a teenage murderess in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994).
