Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). Her career began in the industry at age 4 by doing voice overs as well as commercial work. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. She then moved on to The Object of My Affection (1998) and spent time in Another World (1964) as "Rain Wolfe" as a child found in the park, and fostered by Josie and Gary. Sarah would go on to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) numerous times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast to portray the character of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she was also cast as "Molly" in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). With Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, and Joe Gould's Secret (2000) as well as Falcone (2000). Sarah has studied voice, tap, jazz and hip-hop as well as film and television. Sarah, a New Yorker, also took part as an invited performer in her tap and Theater dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. After being home-schooled by her mother, she attended a public school until second grade. When she was in 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until 2008 when she graduated. Sarah was just 18 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. After being accepted and the name was changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
